Judge issues restraining order allowing Tulsa Little League team to play regional final
A Texas judge granted a temporary restraining order that lets Tulsa National Little League's 12-U team compete in the Southwest Region championship after the organization disqualified them for using an ineligible player.
A McLennan County judge issued a temporary restraining order permitting Tulsa National Little League's 12-U All-Star baseball team to play in the Southwest Region championship game, overturning a recent disqualification by Little League International. The order, granted by Judge Ryan Luna, requires the title match against Boerne to proceed as scheduled on August 11 at 6 p.m., with the winner advancing to the Little League World Series.
Tulsa had been removed from the tournament after a protest revealed that a player who participated was deemed ineligible. Little League International said the decision was made to protect the integrity of the competition and to ensure a fair experience for all participants.
The ruling follows a similar incident three weeks earlier when Tulsa's softball team was barred from the regional final for insufficient documentation of player eligibility. Christian Dennie of Dennie Sports Law, representing the parents and players, said the judge’s order allows the championship to be decided on the field as originally planned.
Little League International has not commented on the court order but previously issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to uphold rules and support affected families.
