Karol G releases introspective seventh album "No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto"

Résumé

Colombian singer Karol G's new album explores heartbreak and personal challenges, featuring collaborations with Drake, Bruno Mars and others.

Colombian singer Karol G has issued her seventh studio album, "No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto" ("I Don't Regret Feeling So Much"), which delves into the emotional aftermath of her recent breakup with fellow musician Feid and other personal struggles. The 14-track record, written in part during a solo trip to Hawaii, moves away from the upbeat, genre-blending style of her previous project "Tropicoqueta" and adopts a more intimate, vulnerable tone.

The album opens with the hyperpop-infused track "Te Llevas To," followed by songs that range from alt-perreo "Bebiendo Lágrimas" to a late-summer collaboration with Drake on "Ahí." A contemplative highlight, "Final Feliz," features delicate falsetto over Oklou's production. Karol G also recorded her first fully English-language song, "Still," with Bruno Mars, and pays tribute to Selena Quintanilla on the cumbia-styled "Alguien Que te Amaba," co-written with Pete Astudillo.

Long-time producers Edgar Barrera, Ovy On The Drums and Sky Rompiendo return, while new collaborators include Drake, Bruno Mars, Oklou, Judeline, Rusowsky and Tainy. The album blends indie rock, experimental pop and traditional Latin rhythms, reflecting Karol G's willingness to experiment after achieving global stadium success.

"I’d still love you even with a broken heart," Karol G sings on the synth-driven ballad "Still," according to the album's promotional description.

Critics note that the project emphasizes honesty over commercial ambition, positioning the singer at a point where she can express personal feelings without the pressure of chart performance.
