A ninth-grade student opened fire at the Debsirin School branch in Nonthaburi province, on the outskirts of Bangkok, killing at least two people and injuring between four and fifteen others, according to Thai media and Reuters. Police confirmed the shooter, identified as a student, is dead, though it remains unclear whether he was killed by authorities or took his own life.
Police chief Dechrapee Kongdee said the shooter was a ninth-grader, typically about 14 years old. Authorities urged anyone still inside the school to hide and wait for rescue personnel, posting safety instructions on social media.
