Jason Arday, the 41-year-old sociologist who resigned from Cambridge University after the institution opened an investigation into alleged plagiarism in his doctoral dissertation and false claims on his curriculum vitae, was discovered unresponsive in south London on Friday and later pronounced dead at the scene. Metropolitan Police spokesperson said the death was unexpected and not believed to be suspicious, adding that officers from the Central South Command Unit are handling the investigation and a coroner's file will be prepared. Arday, who had been noted as the university's youngest black professor and a prominent figure in its diversity initiatives, had stepped down on Aug. 5 following the launch of the inquiry.
