Ukraine says North Korean missile unit deployed to western Russia for possible strikes
Ukraine's military intelligence reports that a North Korean missile unit has been sent to western Russia, potentially bringing 120 ballistic missiles and six launchers that could be used against Ukraine.
Ukraine's military intelligence agency said a North Korean missile unit has begun moving to western Russia and may be equipped with up to 120 ballistic missiles and six launchers capable of striking Ukrainian targets.
The agency noted that Ukraine's air defence inventory lacks sufficient high-end systems, and Russia has increasingly employed ballistic missiles, which are difficult to intercept.
According to the report, Russia has launched numerous North Korean-origin ballistic missiles at Ukraine since late 2023, and the presence of a dedicated missile unit would mark a further step in the military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
