Apple TV+ announced that the fourth season of its comedy series Ted Lasso earned an 89% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on nearly sixty reviews. The score positions the new season between the series' previous ratings of 92% for season 1, 98% for season 2 and 81% for season 3, bringing the overall series average to about 90%.
The season introduces a new women’s soccer team and features a reduced presence of several original cast members. Critics offered mixed commentary; Consequence noted that the episodes contain "high points" but feel overly familiar, while The Times UK described the show as "uplifting, unpretentious, homely television with a strong moral compass." New York Magazine observed that the series continues to prioritize a "sterile niceness" over deeper character exploration.
Apple TV+ released the first episode of season 4 on Tuesday and plans to release the remaining nine episodes weekly, concluding with the finale on October 7.
