Drone strike on Krasnodar Krai beach kills seven, injures dozens
A drone hit Arkhipo-Osipovka beach near Gelendzhik in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, killing seven people, including three children, and wounding around 40 others.
At least seven people were killed and about 40 injured when a drone struck Arkhipo-Osipovka beach near the Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik in Russia's Krasnodar Krai, regional authorities said. The Operational Headquarters of Krasnodar Krai reported that three of the dead were children. An additional 21 victims were hospitalized and 19 received outpatient care.
Regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev posted on Telegram that the attack was carried out by Ukrainian forces, describing it as a "targeted attack by the Kyiv regime." The Ukrainian military has not commented on the incident.
Footage verified by the BBC shows the moment the drone impacted the beach. It is unclear whether the drone was intercepted before it reached the shoreline. The strike follows a series of recent Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian infrastructure and commercial sites.
