Braves add new players and prep for Marlins series
MLB. com reported that the Atlanta Braves activated Sean Murphy and Ha-Seong Kim from the injured list and introduced recent trade acquisitions—outfielder Lane Thomas, pitcher Tyler Mahle and reliever Brent Suter—while preparing for the opening game of their series against the Miami Marlins on August 5, 2026 in Atlanta.
Earlier, ESPN reported that the Braves acquired outfielder Lane Thomas and left-handed prospect Bailey Falter from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for two minor-league pitchers. Battery Power later noted that Thomas, a right-handed hitter, was expected to bolster the left-field platoon and added that the club completed additional deals before the August 3, 2026 deadline, bringing in pitcher Tyler Mahle and reliever Brent Suter while sending prospects such as Eli White and Joey Bart to other teams.
