Three killed, seven injured in shooting at Idaho In-N-Out Burger

Resumen

A gunman opened fire at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, killing three people and wounding seven others, including several in critical condition.

Three people were killed and seven others injured, some critically, during a shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon, city public information officer Josh Palmer said. Police found the body of the suspected shooter near the restaurant, but officials have not confirmed whether the gunman is included in the death toll.

Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks told a news conference that investigators are still working to identify the shooter and determine a motive, adding that the immediate threat to the community appears to have ended. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. in a busy shopping plaza that was hosting hundreds of shoppers.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene. One witness reported seeing a person with an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-through while another individual with a pistol fired at the shooter. An employee was seen being dragged from the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest. Video captured a person in black approaching a vehicle with a long rifle before opening the trunk, after which the driver left the area.

Hospital spokesperson Taylor Marschner said multiple victims were transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center, which is coordinating with law-enforcement and emergency responders. The In-N-Out location had opened a week earlier as part of the chain’s expansion into Idaho.

Twin Falls, a city of about 56,000 residents, lies roughly 130 miles southeast of Boise and 75 miles north of the Nevada border.
