Usman Nurmagomedov knocks out Archie Colgan in first round at PFL New York
Usman Nurmagomedov defeated Archie Colgan by knockout in the opening round of the PFL lightweight title bout in New York, and later hinted at possible UFC interest.
Usman Nurmagomedov secured a first-round knockout over unbeaten lightweight Archie Colgan at the PFL New York event held at UBS Arena on Saturday. The fight, which was the final contest of Nurmagomedov's PFL contract, saw him land a series of body kicks before delivering a head kick that dropped Colgan, followed by an uppercut that ended the bout.
After the victory, Nurmagomedov said he would consider offers from UFC president Dana White and addressed PFL co-owner Jake Paul, suggesting his earnings would influence his decision.
"Money will," Nurmagomedov said when asked what would keep him in the PFL. "Why? Jake Paul talks about Dana White doesn’t pay his fighters. Now’s his chance to show how he pays people when they deserve it. 22-0, undefeated, undisputed lightweight champion of the world. Do we think I deserve it?"
