Advocates Urge Withdrawal of Ariana Grande's 'Petal' Video Over Youth Harm
On August 2, 2026, model Charli Howard and actor Jameela Jamil asked Ariana Grande’s team to withdraw the “Petal” music video, saying its imagery could negatively affect young viewers. The video, released on July 31, depicts Grande confronting critics with a chainsaw and features a horror-themed audition scene directed by Christian Breslauer; it carries a parental advisory notice. Billboard noted the chainsaw attack, while Pitchfork reported the short-film’s hostile audition premise and the advisory.
