Google to unveil Pixel 11 lineup, Pixel Watch 5 and Gemini updates at Made by Google event
Google's Made by Google event on Aug. 12 will introduce the Pixel 11 smartphones, a new foldable model, the Pixel Watch 5 and updates to its Gemini AI platform.
Google is set to host its Made by Google event on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 3 p.m. PT (6 p.m. EDT). The company plans to unveil the Pixel 11 series, which is expected to include multiple smartphones and a foldable device, as well as the Pixel Watch 5. The presentation will also feature updates to the Gemini artificial-intelligence system, which Google describes as an "intelligence system" that can automate tasks across apps and websites.
The live stream will be available on Google's official Made by Google YouTube channel and on the Google Store website. The event will be hosted by comedian Trevor Noah and will feature appearances by athletes and entertainers such as Stephen Curry, Shubman Gill and Ayami Nakajo.
"Android is no longer an operating system, but an intelligence system," a Google spokesperson said, highlighting Gemini's ability to navigate complex user interfaces with a single command.
Analysts anticipate that the new hardware and AI capabilities will reinforce Google's ecosystem and compete with rival smartphone and wearable offerings.
