Georgia father sentenced to 15 years for supplying rifle in school shooting
Colin Gray was sentenced to 15 years in prison for second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter on 30 July in Barrow County, Georgia, with the earliest possible release set for 5 September 2039. The sentence follows a jury conviction on 27 counts for supplying the AR-15-style rifle that his son used in the September 4, 2024 shooting at Apalachee High School, which killed four people. Barrow County District Attorney Brad Smith later said that the shooter’s mother, Marcee Gray, will not face criminal charges, citing lack of custody and proximate cause.
