Four killed, including child, in Russian attacks on Kyiv and surrounding area
Russian drone and missile strikes on Kyiv and the Brovary district killed four people, among them a 3-year-old, as Ukraine reported downing most of the incoming drones.
Four people, including a 3-year-old boy, were killed in Russian attacks on Kyiv and the nearby Brovary district on Saturday, local officials said. The victims were two grandparents and their grandson, whose home was destroyed by multiple drones, while three other family members and a neighbor were hospitalized.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at least one additional person died in a strike that involved six ballistic missiles aimed at civilian infrastructure in the capital. Ukraine’s air force reported intercepting 135 of 151 drones launched overnight, alongside the ballistic missiles.
The attacks come as Ukraine continues to target Russian oil facilities, prompting Moscow to claim its strikes focus on military sites. Zelenskyy appealed on the social platform X for further sanctions to curb the production of ballistic missiles and to secure additional interceptor ammunition for the Patriot air-defence system.
