Drone attacks on warehouses near Moscow kill five, regional officials say

Resumen

Ukrainian drones struck three warehouses in Russia, including two owned by Wildberries, killing five people and injuring ten, according to regional governors.

A drone strike on an industrial area outside Moscow resulted in five fatalities and ten injuries, regional governor Andrey Vorobyov said on Telegram. The attack ignited several fires in the Novoselki zone and damaged a nearby warehouse in Krasny Bor, where one person was also wounded, according to Leningrad region governor Aleksandr Drozdenko.

Ukrainian drones targeted three warehouses across Russia overnight, including two facilities operated by the e-commerce retailer Wildberries, regional governor Vitaly Korolyov reported. Wildberries confirmed a fire at its Krasny Bor logistics centre following the strike.

The incidents come as both sides continue to exchange aerial attacks. Ukrainian forces have increased drone operations against Russian logistical sites, while Russia launched more than 130 drones toward Ukraine in the same period, most of which were intercepted, Kyiv’s air force said.

In related developments, Russian attacks in Ukraine’s Sumy region killed three civilians, including two children and an elderly woman, regional military administrator Oleg Grygorov reported. Another strike in Mykolaiv killed an 89-year-old woman, according to regional official Georgy Reshetilov.

The United Nations has noted a rise in civilian casualties as the conflict enters its fifth year, with no peace negotiations in sight.
