Ukrainian drone strikes kill five in Russia and damage Wildberries warehouse

Resumen

Ukrainian drones hit several locations in Russia, killing at least five people and setting fire to a Wildberries warehouse, while Russian air defenses reported shooting down hundreds of drones.

Ukrainian drone attacks across Russia resulted in at least five fatalities and damage to industrial sites, including a fire at a Wildberries warehouse in the Samara region, officials said. The warehouse, belonging to the country's largest online retailer, was hit about 800 km from the border, but no casualties were reported there.

The strikes also killed two people in a residential building in the Saratov region and injured several others in Engels and Saratov, where civil infrastructure was damaged. In Bashkortostan, air defenses repelled a large-scale drone assault on industrial facilities in Ufa, while in the Udmurt Republic three civilians died and two were wounded after a drone strike.

Russia's defence ministry reported that its air defenses shot down 635 Ukrainian drones overnight, including over occupied Crimea and the Black and Azov Seas, though it did not disclose how many were launched. The Ukrainian air force said Russia launched 133 drones that night, with 24 reaching their targets.

Separately, Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian cities killed at least two people, with strikes reported in Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv.

"The air defence repelled a large-scale drone strike on industrial facilities in Ufa," said regional governor Radiy Khabirov.

"Air defenses shot down two Ukrainian drones and prevented an attempted attack," said acting head Olga Abramova of the Udmurt Republic.

These incidents are part of a broader aerial campaign by Kyiv aimed at disrupting Russian logistics and economic assets.
