Broncos consider signing former Saints versatile player Taysom Hill

Resumen

Denver Broncos coach Sean Payton said the team will explore adding former Saints utility player Taysom Hill, who announced he will not return to New Orleans for the 2026 season.

Denver coach Sean Payton told NFL Network that the Broncos will evaluate the possibility of signing Taysom Hill after the veteran announced he will not return to the New Orleans Saints for the 2026 season. Hill, 35, entered the league as an undrafted free agent from BYU and became known for playing multiple positions under Payton in New Orleans, including quarterback, wide receiver and tight end.

During his five-year stint with the Saints, Hill accumulated 1,183 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns, caught 34 passes for 388 yards and seven touchdowns, and threw for 2,025 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions, completing 64.2% of his passes. He posted a 7-2 record in the nine games he started at quarterback.

"For the last nine years, New Orleans has been so much more than the city where I played," Hill wrote in a farewell post, adding that returning to the team is not in his plans.

The Broncos currently have Bo Nix as their starting quarterback, but adding Hill could provide additional options in running situations while Nix continues to recover from a fractured ankle suffered in the postseason.
