Zendaya and Tom Holland poised to become highest-earning box-office stars in a single year

Summary

The couple's two 2026 releases, Christopher Nolan's *The Odyssey* and Marvel's *Spider-Man: Brand New Day*, have generated nearly $2 billion combined, putting them on track to surpass previous records for annual box-office earnings.

Zendaya and Tom Holland are on track to become the most profitable box-office actors in a single year, thanks to the strong performance of two 2026 releases. Holland appears as Telemachus in Christopher Nolan's adaptation of The Odyssey, while Zendaya portrays the goddess Athena. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Holland reprises Peter Parker and Zendaya plays MJ.

The Odyssey has earned $911.4 million worldwide in just over two weeks, and Brand New Day recorded $927 million in its opening weekend, contributing to a domestic weekend total of $434 million, the highest on record. The Nolan film is notable for being the first fully shot in IMAX, using a specially designed camera to capture quiet dialogue scenes.

Both actors have previously worked together on Spider-Man: Homecoming and confirmed their marriage in June 2026. In addition to the two blockbusters, Zendaya starred in A24's The Drama, which grossed $132.5 million, and is slated to appear in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Three, projected to earn $700-$800 million. Holland may return for the upcoming Marvel ensemble Avengers: Doomsday, which is expected to exceed $1 billion.

If the projected earnings materialise, the couple could overtake Samuel L. Jackson's 2019 record of $6.4 billion in box-office revenue, positioning them as the top earners for a single year.
