Tom Holland's fourth Spider-Man film holds a 90% critic rating and a 98% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest audience score among his Spider-Man movies.
Tom Holland's "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" opened in preview screenings on Thursday before its nationwide theatrical release on Friday. The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, received a 90% "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes' Tomatometer, the lowest critic score among Holland's Spider-Man titles, which previously ranged from 91% to 93%.
Despite the comparatively lower critic rating, audience reactions have been strong. The earlier films "Spider-Man: Far From Home" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming" have audience scores of 95% and 87% respectively.
The storyline follows Peter Parker dealing with the loss of his secret identity after Doctor Strange erased the world's memory of him, while confronting a new, unidentified villain in New York City. The cast includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.
