Spider-Man: Brand New Day Reaches $1 Billion, Sets Multiple Box-Office Records
The Verge reported that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has earned $1 billion worldwide, highlighting the strength of the Sony-Marvel partnership as the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe faces a slowdown. TheWrap said the film opened with a $358 million domestic weekend, bringing its global launch to $927 million. Deadline noted a $168 million opening-day total in the United States and Canada, setting a first-day record. Variety reported $72 million earned during preview screenings, surpassing the previous record held by Avengers: Endgame. Forbes indicated the movie holds a 90 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the lowest among Tom Holland’s solo entries, and a 98 percent audience rating, the highest for his Spider-Man films and tied with Shang-Chi for the top-rated MCU title. The Hollywood Reporter projected about $195 million domestic opening and roughly $465 million worldwide debut.
Forbes added that Zendaya and Tom Holland’s 2026 releases have together generated $1. 3 billion worldwide, the largest domestic weekend in U. S. box-office history. The Independent said the pair’s two releases are on track to approach $2 billion in combined earnings for the year.
