Husband says family ends Grenada search, returns to US
Cailen Waddell said his family had completed all possible search actions for his missing wife Elizabeth Waddell in Grenada and that they would return to the United States while the police investigation continued. Elizabeth "Liz" Waddell, a 44-year-old North Carolina resident, was reported missing after she vanished while swimming near Grand Anse Beach on July 22, according to CBS News. Grenadian police opened a missing-person investigation and said surveillance footage captured her entering the water and not reappearing.
Authorities asked the public for information, and her husband traveled to the island to assist, as reported by CBS. Later, both Waddell and local officials indicated that no foul play was suspected, per ABC News.
