Mosques Burned in West Bank Amid Surge of Violence
Israeli authorities said two mosques in the West Bank towns of Qusra and Kour were set on fire in a suspected settler arson attack, prompting a security response and investigations. The Israeli military said it arrested more than 70 suspects across the West Bank after clashes that killed two Israeli soldiers and four Palestinian villagers, and said additional raids and airstrikes were carried out. The Times of Israel reported that six people – two Israelis and four Palestinians – were killed after a group of settlers entered the West Bank town of Tell and a gunfight erupted.
Al Jazeera reported that violent clashes between Israeli settlers and Palestinians in the town of Tal, southwest of Nablus, resulted in four Palestinian deaths, one Israeli death and several injuries, leading to a security cordon. The Jerusalem Post reported that a Palestinian who seized a weapon from an Israeli emergency responder opened fire on hikers near the Gilad Farm settlement, killing one Israeli and wounding four, before the attacker was killed by the Israeli Defense Forces.
