Trump Hosts World Series Champion Dodgers at White House, Highlights Renovations

President Donald Trump held a ceremony at the White House on Thursday to honor the Los Angeles Dodgers for winning the 2025 World Series. The event featured remarks from Trump and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who stood beside the former president during the presentation.

Trump used the occasion to describe recent changes to the White House grounds, saying a new helipad had been built to replace previous helicopter landings on the lawn and that the Rose Garden now featured white stone instead of grass, which he said was "always wet" because the property sits on a wetland. He also pointed to gold lettering spelling "The Rose Garden" on an awning and suggested the improvements were not likely to be made under the current administration.

The former president also referenced baseball history, mentioning Shohei Ohtani and Babe Ruth in a brief comment about player trades, though the details were inaccurate.

The Dodgers' visit marked the first time the team had been honored at the White House since their previous appearance, and the ceremony concluded with standard photo opportunities and acknowledgments of the team's achievement.
