Tyreek Hill says his left leg still lacks power ten months after knee injury
Wide receiver Tyreek Hill reported no power in his left leg ten months after a dislocated knee and two surgeries, while expressing optimism about a possible NFL return as a free agent.
Tyreek Hill told viewers in a YouTube video on Wednesday that his left leg, which was injured in a knee dislocation in September 2025, still has no power. He said he is working to regain strength and remains hopeful about returning to the NFL despite being a free agent after the Miami Dolphins released him.
"I have no power in my left leg at all. I'm trying to regain all the power back in my left leg," Hill said.
Hill added that he continues to train and that his recovery timeline is improving, though he did not provide a specific date for a comeback.
"I'ma keep grinding, dog. You know? My timeline looking, I ain't gonna tell you what my timeline is, but timeline looking real good right now, man," he said.
Medical experts noted the severity of Hill's injury, which involved a knee dislocation with multiple ligament damage and possible nerve involvement. Dr. David Chao, a sports injury specialist, compared the case to quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's recovery, stating that a return within a year would be extremely difficult for a wide receiver.
"The injury was more than an ACL. It was a knee dislocation with multiple ligaments. ... This is Herculean for a quarterback to return in one year. He's a wide receiver. Not going to happen," Dr. Chao said.
Hill has undergone two surgeries, the most recent in February to address an LCL issue. In the video, he performed short sprints in his backyard and pool, marking the first time he ran on his reconstructed leg.
"Just trying to get my explosion, and my first step," Hill said.
While Hill believes he is on track for a future NFL return, analysts say his path remains uncertain and may extend beyond the current season.
