Ukrainian drones hit Wildberries warehouses in Penza and Udmurtia

Résumé

Ukrainian drone attacks damaged Wildberries logistics centers in Russia's Penza region and Udmurtia, prompting evacuations and prompting terrorism investigations.

Ukrainian drones struck two Wildberries warehouses in Russia overnight, one in the Penza region and another in the Udmurtian city of Sarapul, local officials said. About 200 employees were evacuated from the Penza facility, where one worker was injured, and the company rerouted shipments to other sites. > "No one was reported injured in the Udmurtia attack, and emergency services are on the scene," said Olga Abramova, head of the Udmurtian regional administration. The Russian Investigative Committee opened terrorism probes after the strikes. The attacks are part of a series that have damaged nearly a dozen Wildberries warehouses in the past two weeks, reducing the retailer's storage capacity by an estimated 10% and affecting tens of thousands of small businesses that rely on the platform. Ukraine has accused Wildberries of supplying parts for Russian military drones, a claim the company denies. In a separate incident, Ukrainian drones hit two tanker ships at the Novorossiysk oil terminal in the Krasnodar region, temporarily halting oil loading, according to the terminal operator. Russia's Defense Ministry reported intercepting 258 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory and annexed Crimea between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Meanwhile, Russian air strikes in Ukraine killed at least eight people, including one in Kyiv, and prompted Poland to scramble fighter jets to protect its airspace.
