A ticket sold in Florida matched all six numbers in the Mega Millions draw on July 28, securing an $800 million prize, the third jackpot of the year.

A Florida lottery ticket matched the winning numbers in the Mega Millions draw on Tuesday, July 28, awarding the $800 million jackpot, the third Mega Millions jackpot of 2026 and the tenth-largest in the game’s history. The cash option for the prize is valued at $344.2 million, and the winner can choose either a lump-sum payment or an annuity that starts with a larger immediate payment followed by annual checks that increase by 5% each year.

The winning numbers were 34, 48, 49, 59, 70 with the Mega Ball 12. In addition to the jackpot winner, two other players claimed Match 5 prizes: a $3 million prize in New York and a $5 million prize in Illinois.

"The jackpot has now reset to $50 million for the next drawing on Friday, July 31," Mega Millions officials said.

The draw marks the 38th drawing since the previous jackpot was won on March 17, when an Ohio player claimed a $60 million prize. The Mega Millions lottery is offered in 45 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands, with tickets priced at $5 each.
