Apple rolls out iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 with security fixes and Spotlight improvements
Apple released iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6, adding security patches and Spotlight indexing enhancements ahead of the upcoming iOS 27 launch.
Apple has issued iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 updates for eligible iPhones and iPads, available through the Settings > General > Software Update menu. The releases follow a recent security update, iOS 26.5.2, and incorporate additional security fixes for both platforms. They also refine the Spotlight index to prepare devices for the forthcoming iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 releases. Apple indicated that iOS 26.6 will be among the last updates for the iOS 26 series, as the company beta-tests iOS 27 ahead of its planned September debut alongside new iPhone models.
