Ellen DeGeneres Posts Tribute to Late Kardashian Matriarch MJ Shannon

Ellen DeGeneres posted a tribute on Instagram on July 17 following the death of Mary Jo "MJ" Shannon, the 91-year-old mother of Kris Jenner. The former talk-show host wrote that she and her wife Portia de Rossi recognized how important Shannon had been to Jenner and her extended family, and expressed sympathy for the family's grief.

"Portia and I know how much you loved your mother and what a special force she was in your life and your entire family’s life," DeGeneres wrote, adding that she and de Rossi were sending love to Jenner. Kris Jenner's children, including Kourtney and Khloé Kardashian, responded to the post, thanking DeGeneres for her kind words. Khloé described DeGeneres as "the sweetest" and a "great friend" to her mother, while Kourtney called the message "so sweet," both adding heart emojis.
