Samsung launches slimmer Galaxy Z Fold8 with Snapdragon 8 Elite
Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold8, a slimmer foldable smartphone equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and 120 Hz LTPO AMOLED displays, at its Galaxy Unpacked event. The device features a wider outer screen, a 4:3 inner display and a larger battery, but it omits a telephoto lens and the IP68 water-resistance rating.
The launch followed months of speculation that began with early leaks, which revealed the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra would share many specifications and introduced design refinements. Subsequent leaks and renderings confirmed the slimmer chassis, upgraded chipset and camera configurations, while reviewers criticized the loss of premium features such as the telephoto lens.
