In a social-media post, he disputed ABC News reporting that the pool was being drained to address peeling paint and algae, insisting instead that a "high-grade colored waterproofing liner" had been slashed with a knife or box cutter. The president offered no documentation to support the vandalism allegation. ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir briefly noted that the pool had been drained for a second time in recent months to address paint issues and recurring algae blooms.
