Portland city administrator says Blazers have not provided requested information for arena deal
Portland city officials say the Trail Blazers have not yet supplied data the city requested for a long-term arena agreement, delaying negotiations.
Portland city administrator Raymond Lee told reporters after an executive session that the city has asked the Trail Blazers for specific information needed to negotiate a long-term arena agreement, but the team has not yet responded. Lee said the city has had verbal conversations with the franchise, but the Blazers appear to be waiting for a formal term sheet before providing the critical details the city requires for the deal.
"When you get into these type of negotiations, they’re tough. Yes, the city has asked and requested certain information from the Blazers and we have not received that," Lee said.
"I believe the Blazers are waiting on a term sheet before they really start opening up into negotiations with us and start getting some of that critical information that we would want to see on our end as it relates to building out a deal with the Blazers that will be long-term for the city and the Blazers," he added.
