OnePlus to Exit United States, Canada and Europe Markets
OnePlus announced, according to Android Authority, that it will stop selling phones and other products in the United States, Canada and Europe, ending more than a decade of presence in those markets. Earlier, 9to5Google reported that well-informed sources said OnePlus planned to withdraw its brand from the United States and Europe within days while keeping operations in India and China. Wccftech added that the company cited rising DRAM costs and limited market share as reasons for ceasing sales and future releases in those regions. The Verge noted that the move, owned by Oppo, was set to be announced, ending months of speculation about the brand’s future.
MacRumors linked the withdrawal to a broader Oppo restructuring, saying the exit would begin within days. Bloomberg, cited by 9to5Google, said OnePlus would also stop selling phones in the United States and Europe that week, with a planned exit from India by 2027, while the brand would remain in China. Oppo later confirmed the termination of the OnePlus brand in the United States and Europe and said all devices would be migrated to its ColorOS platform on Android 17, with software support continuing. The final announcement, reported by Android Authority, included Canada among the markets being exited, prompting analysis of the impact on Android competition.
