Apple releases iOS 27 beta 4 with upgraded Siri AI features

Apple announced the availability of the fourth developer beta of iOS 27, identified as build 23G71, for devices enrolled in the Apple Developer Program. Users can install the update via Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates. The release follows the first public beta launched on July 13 and is expected to be succeeded by a second public beta next week, with the final version slated for a fall rollout.

The update emphasizes a new version of Siri, referred to as Siri AI, which is built on Apple’s next-generation intelligence framework and foundation models. Apple describes the assistant as offering more conversational depth, personal context, expanded knowledge, on-screen awareness, and enhanced app actions. On iPhone, Siri AI includes a visual interface linked to the Dynamic Island and a dedicated Siri app for reviewing past interactions. Additional AI-driven improvements are introduced for Photos, Safari, Passwords, Mail, Messages, Phone, Shortcuts, Home and other apps, with some functions running on-device and others using private cloud compute.

Compatibility varies by device; iOS 27 supports iPhone 11 and later as well as iPhone SE (2nd generation) and newer, while Siri AI requires newer hardware that can run Apple’s on-device AI models.

Other changes in iOS 27 beta 4 include refinements to the Liquid Glass design, performance boosts for app launches and media loading, new options for Photos keywords and star ratings, customizable slideshows, smoother camera operation, continuous message sending, dual capture in FaceTime, custom equalizer settings for AirPods, additional recovery options, simplified Apple Pay card switching, and AI-generated wallpaper creation.
