NFL owners to vote on $9.6 billion Seahawks sale in August 2026
A group led by venture capitalist Vinod Khosla will seek NFL owners' approval in August to purchase the Seattle Seahawks for $9.612 billion, with the transaction expected to proceed smoothly.
NFL team owners are scheduled to meet in August 2026 to decide on a proposed $9.612 billion acquisition of the Seattle Seahawks by a consortium headed by billionaire Vinod Khosla. The vote will determine whether the franchise changes hands before the 2026 regular season begins in less than two months. Khosla, who already holds a minority stake in the San Francisco 49ers and has been cleared for NFL ownership, is expected to benefit from an already completed vetting process. The primary issue remaining is how the deal will be structured, though industry observers note that such transactions rarely fail to receive approval.
"There’s no reason to think it won’t be approved. These kinds of transactions rarely fall apart," a league insider said.
