Former Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan Sentenced to Fine, No Prison
Former Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan was sentenced by a U. S. District Court judge to a $5,000 fine after she obstructed U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents by helping a Mexican defendant avoid custody in her courtroom, AP News reported.
The obstruction was charged as a felony, and Judge Lynn Adelman presided over the case, according to NBC News. The court imposed the monetary penalty but did not order any term of imprisonment, as noted by AP News. NBC News initially indicated that probation would also be part of the sentence. Later reporting by WISN clarified that no probation was imposed and that the judge cited Dugan's lifelong public service in deciding the sentence.
