NATO Secretary-General calls for accelerated air-defence aid to Ukraine

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte urged faster delivery of air-defence equipment to Ukraine during the NATO summit in Ankara, saying the country’s recent battlefield performance demanded it. He highlighted that Russia had intensified missile and drone attacks, underscoring the urgency of the request. Rutte also defended the Priority Ukrainian Resupply Lend-Lease programme as a cornerstone of NATO support.

He called on alliance members to increase their contributions to the effort. The Kyiv Post reported the remarks as part of the summit discussions.
