UK mother diagnosed with stage-4 brain cancer weeks after giving birth to fourth child

Summary

Amy Carroll, a 34-year-old tattoo model from Northamptonshire, discovered a second cancer after an emergency C-section delivered her baby, Arlo Atlas Sirus, and will begin radiation and chemotherapy.

Amy Carroll, 34, of Northamptonshire, England, was diagnosed with stage-4 brain cancer after an emergency caesarean section delivered her fourth child in early July. The mother, who survived breast cancer diagnosed in 2021 following cosmetic breast surgery, had been told chemotherapy would prevent further pregnancies. She became pregnant in December 2025, giving birth at 31 weeks on July 6.

Carroll experienced dizziness and a seizure on June 17, prompting hospital admission where a CT scan and MRI revealed seven brain tumors. Doctors indicated immediate delivery was necessary to allow prompt cancer treatment. She is scheduled to start radiation and chemotherapy the week after the birth.

"When I start treatment, I won't be able to be with the baby all the time, which will be very hard," Carroll said.

"I just don't want to forget my life and my kids," she added, expressing concern about potential side effects such as memory loss and balance issues.

Carroll and her partner, Torrin Sirus, 36, have three older sons aged 8, 12 and 18. The newborn has been named Arlo Atlas Sirus.
