Tech Giants Cut Over 120,000 Jobs Citing AI Integration

Leading technology firms including Microsoft, Google Cloud, Meta and others announced layoffs affecting more than 120,000 employees, citing AI-driven changes in operations and workforce needs. The announcement listed companies such as Oracle, GitLab, Intuit, Cisco, Cloudflare, General Motors, Coinbase, PayPal, Snap, IBM, Atlassian and Dell among those cutting staff. Collectively the cuts were reported to total over 120,000 job reductions.

TechCrunch reported that the firms attributed the reductions to the integration of artificial intelligence across their operations. The layoffs represent one of the largest workforce reductions in the sector in recent months.
