Toyota invests $3.6 billion to move Tacoma production to Texas
Toyota Motor announced a $3. 6 billion investment to shift Tacoma midsize pickup production to its San Antonio plant, adding a second assembly line and creating about 2,000 U. S. jobs, CNBC reported. The plan calls for a new line to run alongside the existing one to boost output.
Toyota expects the expanded capacity to support the relocated production. The company said the transition will be completed by 2030. CBS News later confirmed that Toyota will move the majority of Tacoma manufacturing to San Antonio over a four-year period, creating over 2,000 jobs as part of the investment. The shift will expand the plant’s workforce and solidify its role in the North American market.
