Heavy Rain Triggers Partial Roof Collapse at New Jersey BJ's Wholesale Club
According to 6abc Philadelphia, a roof partially gave way at a BJ's Wholesale Club in Ocean Township, New Jersey, as heavy rain flooded the area, leaving about 27 shoppers inside the store. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene as water seeped through the building. Subsequent reporting by NBC News said the heavy rain caused a section of the roof to collapse, briefly trapping two shoppers, though no injuries were reported.
Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden warned residents to avoid the vicinity and asked motorists to stay away from the site. First responders secured the area and assisted the trapped individuals before the store was cleared.
