Navy Sailor Identified as Suspect in Hampton, New Hampshire Shooting
21-year-old Navy sailor Tyshawn Cooper opened fire on two civilians and then killed himself during a police confrontation in Hampton, New Hampshire. Police said the victims, a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. WCVB reported that the suspect died after shooting himself when officers arrived, and WMUR described the death as a suicide under investigation.
Later, WMUR identified the shooter as Tyshawn Cooper, an active-duty sailor stationed aboard the USS Hampton. Police said the investigation continues.
