Biohacker Bryan Johnson Diagnosed with Autoimmune Gastritis, Vows to Apply Longevity Research to Treatment

摘要

Entrepreneur Bryan Johnson announced he has autoimmune gastritis, a condition that impairs nutrient absorption, and said he will use AI and biotech tools to try to resolve it.

Entrepreneur and self-described biohacker Bryan Johnson disclosed on July 3 that he has been diagnosed with autoimmune gastritis, a chronic disease in which antibodies attack the stomach lining. The condition has limited his ability to absorb iron, vitamin B12 and other micronutrients, and doctors consider it a manageable but not curable disorder.

Johnson said the disease had been developing unnoticed for years, noting prior low ferritin levels and biopsy results that indicated early gastritis. He described the situation on Instagram as "my stomach is eating itself," referring to damage limited to the acid-producing portion of the organ.

In response, Johnson announced that he and his team intend to treat the diagnosis as a research challenge, employing artificial-intelligence analysis, biotechnology, immune profiling and custom-designed biological interventions. He framed the effort as an extension of his broader longevity work, which includes extensive testing, exercise, supplementation and experimental therapies that he reportedly spends about $2 million on annually.

Johnson linked the current health issue to his earlier lifestyle, citing a childhood diet high in sugary foods and the stress of early fatherhood and entrepreneurship. He indicated that the diagnosis reinforces his commitment to pursuing scientific approaches that could extend human lifespan.
