Bryan Johnson Announces Autoimmune Gastritis Diagnosis and Longevity Research Plans
Tech entrepreneur Bryan Johnson disclosed in a series of public statements that doctors have diagnosed him with autoimmune gastritis, a chronic stomach condition that impairs acid production and nutrient absorption. The New York Post reported that the diagnosis revealed stomach damage and iron deficiency. The Independent noted that Johnson said he would continue experimental monitoring and treatment efforts. Fox News added that he intends to work actively to address the condition.
Yahoo reported the disorder had gone undetected for more than ten years despite extensive testing, and a later Independent story said he attributes the irreversible condition to earlier dietary habits while pledging to keep experimental approaches. The Independent later said his intensive health regimen helped keep the gastritis from becoming more severe. Yahoo Health confirmed doctors’ diagnosis and highlighted the risk of iron and vitamin B12 deficiencies. Finally, Yahoo reported that Johnson plans to use AI and biotech tools from his longevity research to try to resolve the disorder.
