Eight injured in Coney Island shooting, including four children
Police say a shooting in Brooklyn's Coney Island left eight victims, four of them minors, with one woman in critical condition.
Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots in Coney Island around 10:37 p.m. Saturday, finding eight people with firearm injuries. The victims, aged 6 to 37, were taken to hospitals; seven are listed as stable while a 21-year-old woman remains in critical condition after being shot in the chest. The children injured include a 6-year-old boy with a stomach wound, a 7-year-old boy shot in both legs, a 12-year-old boy with a leg injury and a 14-year-old boy wounded in the thigh. A firearm was recovered at the scene, but no arrests have been made as investigators continue to seek persons of interest.
