Man Treated After Suspected Shark Bite at Jones Beach

A man was bitten by a suspected shark at Jones Beach State Park on Long Island, Yahoo reported. Lifeguards on duty administered first aid and ordered swimmers to leave the water while officials began a search. The beach was closed for roughly an hour as the water was inspected for the animal.

The victim was transported to Nassau University Medical Center, where doctors said his injuries were not life-threatening. After the inspection cleared the area, officials allowed swimming to resume.
