Albanian police clash with protesters over coastal resort plan

AP News reported that Albanian police clashed with anti-government protesters in Tirana after demonstrators attacked officers. The crowd numbered several hundred and called for Prime Minister Edi Rama to resign. During the protest some participants assaulted police personnel. In response, officers deployed tear gas and pepper spray to disperse the crowd.

The demonstration was directed against a luxury resort project at Narta Lagoon that is associated with U. S. businessman Jared Kushner.
