Researchers Show Classical Messages Can Mimic Quantum Communication with Non-signaling Aid
A team of researchers demonstrated that non-signaling correlations can enable a classical message of the same dimension to simulate the transmission of a qudit in prepare-and-measure scenarios, according to Sciencecast. The study showed that this replication does not require adaptive measurements on the receiver’s side. The authors also identified the precise conditions under which adaptive strategies provide a genuine advantage over the non-signaling assisted protocol.
Their analysis proved that when the receiver lacks genuine measurement choices, the classical-assisted scheme matches the performance of quantum communication. These findings clarify the role of non-signaling resources in quantum information tasks and delineate the limits of classical simulation.
