Norfolk coroner says man left partner dead, thinking she slept

A Norfolk coroner said that Matthew Burgess left his partner Lyudmila Skotcher unattended in her Norwich home for four days, believing she was merely sleeping. Burgess visited the residence repeatedly during that period, each time finding her unresponsive but assuming she was asleep. He did not call emergency services or attempt to rouse her despite the prolonged neglect.

The coroner’s investigation concluded that Skotcher died from acute alcohol intoxication. The findings were reported by Yahoo.
