Michael Weatherly to Reprise Tony DiNozzo on NCIS Season 24
Michael Weatherly will return as Tony DiNozzo for a season-long arc in NCIS Season 24, set to debut this fall on CBS and Paramount+.
Michael Weatherly is slated to reprise his role as Tony DiNozzo in the upcoming Season 24 of the CBS drama NCIS, which will begin airing this fall. The actor previously left the series after its thirteenth season and most recently appeared in the short-lived spinoff NCIS: Tony & Ziva.
The network has not confirmed whether Cote de Pablo, who played Ziva David, will also return or if the storyline from the cancelled spinoff will be revisited. CBS declined to comment on any potential retcon of the spinoff’s events.
Season 24 is scheduled for Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and will be available for streaming on Paramount+. The series continues to follow the Naval Criminal Investigative Service team, starring Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover and Gary Cole.
"We really wanted to bring the Sam Hanna character back," said Amy Reisenbach, CBS Entertainment President, when asked about the franchise’s expansion plans.
The new season will be produced by CBS Studios with an executive-producer lineup that includes Steven D. Binder, Mark Harmon, Scott Williams and Donald P. Bellisario, among others.
