Lakers trade for Walker Kessler and sign three free agents
The Los Angeles Lakers acquired center Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz in a trade that included unprotected first-round picks, NBA. com reported. The deal sent the 2031 and 2033 selections to Utah in exchange for the 24-year-old shot-blocker. Kessler was expected to sign a four-year contract with the Lakers.
Following the trade, the Lakers completed a series of free-agent moves, NBC Sports said. They signed Kessler to the four-year deal and added guards Quentin Grimes and Collin Sexton along with forward Sandro Mamukelashvili. The additions bolstered the roster ahead of the upcoming season.
